May 2023 – Columbus, Ohio – thinkCSC is pleased to welcome James Skaggs to our professional services team. With 22 years of experience in IT, James is an exceptional addition to our team. Specializing in networking, active directory, and virtualization, James previously led a two-man IT department in a large manufacturing network that included 20+ servers.

Outside of work, James enjoys kayaking, and hiking with his German Shepherd, and exploring national parks. Last year, he spent a week camping in Yellowstone with his wife and two teenage sons.

We are pleased to introduce Jason Maxey, a field engineer who is passionate about solving problems for thinkCSC clients. His specialties include security, Active Directory, servers, virtualization, and enterprise storage. For someone with more than 20 years of experience in IT, you might be surprised to discover that Jason’s hobbies include such analog pursuits as tinkering with antique telephones, typewriters, and small engines. Jason and his wife have two children and two rescue dogs (a lab and a spaniel). They spend many summer weekends camping. When he’s not working on their house or barn, Jason volunteers with the Delaware County 4-H Program summer camps (his first job was as a Summer Naturalist for a 4-H summer camp in Licking County) and offers his technical expertise to the Delaware County Fair. We’re thrilled to have Jason join the thinkCSC family.

This distinguished award recognizes the person in the thinkCSC family who has been voted by his or her peers to be the one who best emulates our company culture during the year.

Knowing who and what we are as a company, and treating each other like a true family, makes us all strive to do our best for our clients.  “Chuck” is thinkCSC personified. Created in 2003, Chuck began as an exercise to help us better define and emulate our company culture and provide a better workplace for the talented people we bring on board. Chuck is quite a person.

Each year, thinkCSC employees anonymously nominate one of their peers for “Chuck of the Year.” During our annual thinkCSC party, each nomination is read aloud. This is a great exercise in which each of us gets to hear what others think about a specific co-worker.

This year’s winner, Brian Johnson, is a hardware engineer who has worked for thinkCSC for five years. Outside of work, Brian is involved in music and plays guitar and piano. Brian says, “I am happy to be a part of the thinkCSC family and I look forward to a bright future.”

Ohio Passes Data Protection Act, Providing Safe Harbor to Organizations that Experience a Data Breach

Columbus, Ohio – August 2018  Senate Bill 220, now known as the Ohio Data Protection Act, was recently signed into law. This bill represents a significant opportunity for every organization of every size to limit liability in the event of a data breach. To meet the requirements for safe harbor, the organization must demonstrate compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework. Debbie is a central Ohio native who has spent the past 18 years working in sales, service delivery and leadership roles at several local information technology firms.  Debbie joined thinkCSC on September 19.  Her favorite part of her job is introducing new clients to the thinkCSC family. Debbie and her husband live in New Albany and have four sons.  In her spare time, Debbie enjoys reading, attending her husband’s rock band performances and cooking.


Columbus Wins Smart City Challenge
